Image of Enceladus Jets
JET BLUE: Depicted here in this spectacular, false-color image is an astounding phenomenon—jets on the surface of Saturn’s moon Enceladus spurting ice particles, water vapor, and trace organic molecules (the compounds necessary to make life as we know it on Earth) into space. Even more interesting is that the region on Enceladus’ icy surface from which these jets emanate has the highest temperatures on the entire moon! Intriguing to astrobiologists, Enceladus could be one of the best places to look for evidence of life in our Solar System. Image Credit: NASA/JPL/Space Science Institute
